2nd Brazilian Soil Physics Meeting

Apresentação / Presentation:
Five international speakers (from the USA, Australia and the Netherlands) and four national researchers will present their views on issues related to their specialty on Soil Physics.

Two round tables will also be held at this meeting on issues in Soil Physics which requires in Brazil a broad discussion and debate. These tables will be composed of four national and three international researchers (Scotland, Germany and the USA).

Graduate students and professionals in Soil Physics can present the topics of their researches through oral exposure, over a period of 10 minutes with 5 minutes for discussion.

The main topics that will be covered at the event are:

  • New approaches to current demands in Soil Physics;
  • Systematic research into methods for analyzing soil physical properties;
  • Sensors used in the characterization of soil physical attributes as well as the integration of physical sensing systems at different scales;
  • Different approaches for the characterization of physical indicators of soil quality;
  • Challenges for the development of a national database applied to Soil Physics;
  • Integration of information from soil studies to develop models in Soil Physics;
  • Modeling in soil physics considering the spatial and temporal attributes of the land;
Período/ Dates: May 6 to 10, 2013

Local / Place: Geological Survey of Brazil - Serviço Geológico do Brasil (CPRM) in the city of Rio de Janeiro
